This journey is an invitation to slow down and see differently. Over twelve days in Ladakh, we move through vast, high-altitude landscapes and quiet mountain communities, following light, rhythm, and moments as they unfold. Created as a women-only experience, this trip is designed to foster a sense of creativity, connection, and shared exploration in a supportive and intimate environment. Rather than trying to cover everything, we spend time in fewer places, allowing space to settle in, observe, and respond to what’s in front of us.
Together, we focus less on capturing and more on noticing. Working with light at its edges, early mornings, soft evenings, and everything in between, we begin to understand how a place feels, not just how it looks. Landscapes shift from dramatic to minimal, and the smallest details, textures, gestures, fleeting expressions, begin to hold just as much weight as the wider scene.
As we travel, we move between expansive terrain and more intimate environments, from monasteries and mountain passes to village life along the Indus Valley. A defining moment of the journey is experiencing sunrise at Thiksey Monastery, where light, sound, and atmosphere come together in a way that feels both powerful and quiet. In contrast, we also spend time at the Ladakh Festival, where traditional dance, music, and colour bring a completely different energy and rhythm to photograph.
There is time to walk, to pause, to reflect, and to review, both individually and as a group. The process is as important as the outcome.
This is not about perfection or performance. It’s about creating with intention, building a deeper connection to place, and developing a way of seeing that feels personal and considered. By the end of the journey, the aim is not just to leave with a set of images, but with a quieter, more attentive approach to photography, and to travel itself.

Hey everyone, we’re really excited to invite you to join us on this journey through Ladakh.
This trip is open to anyone with an interest in photography, whether you’re just starting out or have been shooting for years. It’s not about having the best camera or the most experience, but about being curious, open, and willing to slow down and see things a little differently.
We’ll be travelling together through some of Ladakh’s most striking landscapes and quiet communities, sharing not just the places we visit, but the way we approach photographing them. Our focus is on observation, light, and storytelling, creating images that feel thoughtful and personal rather than perfect.
Throughout the trip, we’ll guide you in a way that feels natural and supportive. Sometimes that means stepping back and giving you space to explore your own perspective, and other times it means coming together to share ideas, review images, and reflect on what we’re creating.
We each bring a different way of seeing, and that’s something we encourage within the group too. This isn’t about following a formula or copying a style, it’s about finding your own way of working and building confidence in it.
We move with the landscape, allowing space for light, weather, and the unexpected to shape each day. While the itinerary gives structure, the experience remains flexible, so we can be in the right place at the right time.
There’s time built in to pause, whether that’s sitting quietly, journaling, or simply observing. Photography here isn’t rushed, but something we return to with intention. Alongside shooting, we’ll also spend time reviewing, editing, and thinking about how images come together, not just individually, but as part of a wider story.
More than anything, this is a shared experience. A chance to connect with place, with photography, and with a group of like-minded people, all exploring and creating together.

We arrive into Leh, where the air feels thinner and everything immediately begins to slow.
We'll be met on arrival by one of the local team and a short drive takes us to Chushot, a quiet village along the Indus River. This will be our first base, a place to land, breathe and begin adjusting, not just physically, but creatively.
The afternoon is intentionally gentle. We head out for a short walk into the nearby wetlands as the light softens, beginning to notice reflections, stillness and subtle movement within the landscape.
In the evening, we come together for a relaxed welcome dinner. A chance to meet, settle in, and begin the journey as a group.

Dinner
Before sunrise, we step out into the cool, quiet morning.
The marshes come alive slowly, mist lifting, birds moving through soft light. This is where we begin, not by chasing images, but by noticing. Light, rhythm, space.
The rest of the day unfolds at an unhurried pace. There’s time to rest, review, and wander through the village, where daily life offers moments of quiet storytelling, textures, faces, and small details.
We begin to introduce a slower way of working, spending longer in one place and allowing scenes to unfold rather than moving on too quickly. There is space to sit, reflect, or journal if you wish.
By evening, we return to the fields, working with long shadows and the last light of the day.

Breakfast
We begin with our first sunrise monastery visit. We rise early to visit Thiksey Monastery, one of the most iconic and visually striking monasteries in Ladakh. Set across multiple tiers overlooking the Indus Valley, it offers a powerful setting to work with light, scale, and atmosphere.
We spend time immersed in the morning prayers, where soft light, quiet movement, and the rhythm of chanting create a deeply atmospheric environment. This is a chance to slow down and observe, photographing with care and intention as the space gradually comes to life.
Later, we explore more of the Indus Valley, where landscape and daily life meet.
We then spend time at the opening day of the Ladakh Festival, a vibrant celebration of local culture. Expect traditional masked dances, music, ceremonial dress, and a strong sense of energy and community. This offers a very different photographic pace, working with movement, colour, and storytelling in a more dynamic environment.
The afternoon slows again, allowing space to pause, review, and reset before another evening session.

Breakfast
We begin at sunrise along the Indus before continuing west.
Along the way, we stop to photograph river landscapes, small villages, and the subtle interactions between people and place.
By afternoon, the terrain shifts dramatically as we arrive in Lamayuru, known as “Moonland.”
We spend the evening working within this unique landscape, where texture, shadow, and light create endlessly changing compositions. This is one of the key locations for a slower, more immersive shooting experience, allowing us to stay in one place and fully explore the scene as the light changes.

Breakfast & Lunch
We spend the day immersed in the landscapes around Lamayuru.
We explore the monastery and surrounding terrain, focusing on form, shadow, and simplicity. This is less about complexity and more about restraint.
As the light fades, the landscape reveals depth and contrast that feels almost otherworldly.
If skies are clear, we step out again after dark, experiencing the stillness of Ladakh at night.

Breakfast
We begin the day before sunrise with a second monastery visit, returning to this experience with a quieter, more familiar perspective.
By now, the pace has slowed and the eye has adjusted. There is a deeper awareness of light, movement, and atmosphere, and we begin to work more intuitively, focusing less on capturing everything and more on responding to what’s in front of us.
This second visit offers a chance not just to photograph, but to revisit and refine. Light, weather, and timing may shift the experience, but that’s part of the process, returning to similar environments and seeing them in new ways.
Afterwards, we return for breakfast before continuing into the day at a slower pace.
We then travel back towards the Indus Valley, shifting our focus from expansive landscapes to more intimate moments. In the Matho region, we explore on foot, moving slowly through village paths, homes, and fields, photographing people, spaces, and everyday life with care and sensitivity.

Breakfast
We journey across Khardung La, one of the highest motorable passes in the world.
As we descend into Nubra Valley, the landscape transforms into a striking contrast of desert dunes and mountain backdrops.
In the afternoon, we photograph around Hunder, where Bactrian camels move through the sand, offering scale and narrative within the landscape.
Throughout the day, we continue to build in time for quiet pauses, whether that’s stopping for tea in a scenic spot or taking a moment to reflect before moving on.

Breakfast
We travel to Turtuk, a remote village close to the Pakistan border.
Here, we move through narrow pathways, apricot orchards, and traditional homes, focusing on quieter moments of daily life.
This is a day for slowing down further, observing, and connecting through photography.
We return to Nubra for sunset.

Breakfast
We set out early, travelling across remote terrain towards Pangong Lake.
As the lake comes into view, we begin to work with its scale, simplicity, and shifting colours.
Here, we embrace a more minimal approach, focusing on space, stillness, and the relationship between water, sky, and light, spending time in one location rather than constantly moving.

Breakfast
We continue into the Changthang region, one of the most remote areas of the journey.
We pass through open plains, nomadic settlements, and grazing animals, photographing the sense of scale and isolation.
Arriving at Tso Moriri, we find a quieter, more intimate landscape, offering space for deeper reflection, both creatively and personally, with time to slow down and absorb the surroundings.

Breakfast
We wake early for sunrise by the lake.
We spend time working with the soft light, still water, and distant mountains before beginning our journey back to Chushot.
Before the evening, we take time to review and reflect on the work created throughout the journey, looking at how images connect and the stories that have emerged.
We then come together for a farewell dinner, sharing reflections and closing the experience as a group.

The trip starts and ends in Leh, so you will need to book your international flight into Delhi, along with a connecting domestic flight from Delhi to Leh. Where possible, we recommend booking this on the same ticket.
We suggest the following domestic flight as the most suitable option:
Delhi → Leh: IndiGo 6E 6084
Departing 10:45 / Arriving 12:20
If you’re unable to find an international flight that arrives into Delhi in time to comfortably connect with this, the best option is to arrive into Delhi the day before the trip begins and stay overnight.
You would then return to the airport the following morning to take the 10:45 flight to Leh. We’re very happy to assist with arranging Delhi accommodation and transfers if needed.
Travel insurance is essential as soon as you book your trip because it protects you from unexpected issues both before and during your travels.
- Before your trip: If you need to cancel due to illness, a family emergency, or unforeseen events, insurance can reimburse non-refundable costs.
- During your trip: It covers medical emergencies, lost luggage, or stolen passports, saving you from significant expenses and stress.
Booking travel insurance early ensures you're protected from the start, giving you peace of mind throughout your journey.
