Welcome to Brazil, a country bursting with colour, rhythm and, of course, incredible food. Over the next eight days, we’ll journey from the bustling streets of São Paulo to the colonial charm of Paraty and on to the vibrant heart of Rio de Janeiro, all through the lens of plant-based cuisine, local culture and unforgettable experiences. This isn’t just a trip; it’s a chance to taste, explore and connect with Brazil in a way that’s authentic, fun and fully vegan-friendly.

We’ll cook together, learn from local chefs, paddle through tropical bays, wander historic streets and immerse ourselves in the stories of the communities we visit. Each day brings a new experience, from a hands-on vegan cooking class and a market-to-table culinary experience, to kayaking calm coastal waters and soaking up the music, movement and energy of Rio.

We’ll start in São Paulo with a hands-on vegan cooking class and a welcome dinner, before travelling on to Paraty to explore its historic streets, enjoy a market-to-table culinary experience, and kayak through calm tropical bays.

The journey finishes in Rio de Janeiro, where iconic sights, panoramic viewpoints, and immersive local experiences await. From Corcovado and Sugarloaf Mountain to colourful neighbourhoods, samba rhythms, and evenings spent experiencing the city like a local, you’ll discover Rio from multiple perspectives.

Please arrive at São Paulo–Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) by 2:00 pm on Sunday 22 November 2026 in time for the scheduled group transfer to the hotel.

Departure

On the final day, there will be a group transfer to Rio de Janeiro International Airport (GIG) after breakfast. Please book flights departing after 1:00pm on Sunday 29th November 2026 to allow sufficient time for airport security and any unforeseen delays.

Any travel outside the scheduled group transfer windows will be at your own cost.

Further details, including exact timings and meeting points, will be shared closer to departure via the pre-departure app.


Transfers are included only if arriving or departing on the 22 November and 29 November.

Please do not book your flights until we have confirmed this trip has met the minimum numbers and is going ahead.

Arrive in São Paulo

Bem-vinda to Brazil!

Today we arrive in São Paulo, one of Latin America’s most exciting food and cultural capitals. After landing, we’ll meet our local English-speaking guide and transfer to our hotel, giving us time to settle in and ease into the rhythm of the city.

In the evening, we’ll come together for our first shared meal, the perfect way to get to know one another and begin exploring Brazil through its plant-based flavours.

São Paulo: Cook, Taste & Explore

Today we dive straight into Brazil’s culinary culture with a hands-on cooking experience. At a local culinary school, we’ll learn how traditional Brazilian dishes are prepared and re-imagined through a plant-based lens (Duration: 3 hours).

Guided by a professional chef, we’ll cook together, enjoy caipirinhas and fresh juices, and sit down to eat what we’ve created.

The rest of the day is free to explore São Paulo, whether that’s cafés, neighbourhood strolls, or simply relaxing after a deliciously immersive morning.

Explore Paraty & Cachaça Tasting

Today we’ll leave São Paulo behind and travel by private transfer to Paraty, a beautifully preserved colonial town surrounded by mountains and sea.

Once we arrive, we’ll have lunch at a local restaurant before heading out on a guided walking tour through the historic centre, wandering cobbled streets and learning about the stories behind Paraty’s churches, houses, and monuments from the 18th century.

Later, we’ll enjoy a guided Cachaça tasting, discovering how this iconic Brazilian spirit is made before checking in and settling into our pousada for the night.

Kayaking Paraty Bay

This morning we head out onto the calm, protected waters of Paraty Bay for a guided kayaking experience. Paddling along the coastline, we’ll glide past tropical islands and quiet sandy beaches, with time to stop for swimming and to enjoy the scenery.

As conditions allow, we finish the route by paddling through a peaceful mangrove channel, a beautiful stretch of water that cannot be reached by boat and is home to vibrant wildlife. No previous kayaking experience is needed, and our guide will provide full instruction before we set off.

The rest of the day is free to unwind, explore and relax at you’re leseisure.We’ll come together in the evening to share a group dinner at a local restaurant.

Cooking in Paraty: From Market to Table

We begin with a gentle introduction to the town, learning about Paraty’s past and the Indigenous, African, and European influences that shaped its food culture. From here, we travel just outside town toward Bocaina National Park, where today’s cooking experience takes place.

Set beside a river and surrounded by Atlantic Forest, there is time to swim, relax, or simply take in the views while enjoying appetisers, wine, or a hands-on Caipirinha-making session. Once refreshed, we get cooking.

Guided by local chef Roberta Valente, we explore seasonal ingredients, flavours, and techniques, preparing a plant-based Brazilian meal together. The experience finishes by sharing everything we have created in this beautiful setting.

The afternoon is at you’re lesiure to explore the town or spend some time relaxing on the beach, before meeting for our evening meal at a local restaurant.

Nightlife of Rio as a Local

Today we journey to Rio de Janeiro, stopping for lunch at a local restaurant before settling into our accommodation.

This evening offers a relaxed and authentic introduction to Rio after dark. Led by a local guide, we’ll explore a selection of well-loved evening spots where locals gather to enjoy live music, conversation, and the rhythms of samba, forró, and other Brazilian sounds. Along the way, we’ll pause at scenic viewpoints including Mirante do Leblon, Caminho dos Pescadores in Leme, and the waterfront at Mureta da Urca, taking in beautiful night-time views across the city. The evening continues in Lapa, widely considered the heart of Rio’s nightlife. During the evening, one drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and one snack per person are included.

Rio de Janeiro: Icons, Views & Bohemian Streets

This morning we head up Corcovado Mountain to visit Christ the Redeemer, one of the world’s most iconic viewpoints. From the summit, we take in sweeping panoramas across Rio, the coastline, forests, and favelas scattered across the hillsides.

Afterwards, we make our way to Santa Teresa, a colourful hillside neighbourhood known for its street art, winding staircases, cafés, and colonial charm. We wander its streets at a relaxed pace, with time to stop for a drink or snack if we wish.

We cap the day by taking a cable car up Sugarloaf Mountain for a dramatic 360-degree view over Copacabana, Guanabara Bay, and Rio’s striking natural landscape.

Depart Rio

After breakfast, we’ll make our way from the hotel to the international airport with private transfers, waving goodbye to Rio and to Brazil’s incredible mix of flavors, landscapes, and cultures. It’s the perfect moment to reflect on our journey, the meals we’ve shared, and the memories we’ve made, until our next adventure together.

Brazil is an unexpectedly rewarding destination for plant-based travellers. With an abundance of fresh produce, Afro-Brazilian culinary influences, and a growing vegan food scene, particularly in cities like São Paulo, you’ll find many naturally plant-based dishes and chefs skilled at reimagining traditional recipes without compromising flavour. Even in smaller towns, local ingredients such as cassava, beans, coconut milk, and tropical fruits make eating vegan both easy and exciting.

On this trip, you’ll enjoy a thoughtfully curated mix of shared meals and immersive food experiences. The journey includes daily breakfasts at each hotel or pousada, along with included lunches and dinners as specified in the itinerary. Lunches and dinners feature one non-alcoholic beverage per person per meal. During cooking experiences, wine and cocktails may also be included, depending on the activity.
