About this trip

Calling all female photographers - Get ready for an adventure of a lifetime!

Join photographers Emily Endean and Angela Nicholson for a 9-day immersive photography retreat set in stunning landscapes, combining expert tuition with the support of a like-minded women’s community.

Join renowned photographers Emily Endean and Angela Nicholson, founder of the SheClicks community, for an unforgettable 9-day photography adventure through Iceland’s breathtaking landscapes. This immersive experience is designed to elevate your photography while exploring a carefully curated mix of iconic locations and remote, lesser-visited regions.

Together, we’ll journey through a constantly changing backdrop; from the dramatic coastlines and volcanic landscapes of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula to the wild, untouched beauty of the Westfjords. With plenty of opportunities to stop, explore and shoot, Emily and Angela will share guidance, tips and creative insight to help you build confidence and develop your own photographic style.

This is very much an adventure-style road trip, travelling through vast landscapes shaped by nature and time. Expect long days filled with incredible scenery, unforgettable wildlife moments (including photographing puffins!) and the camaraderie of a group of women who share your passion for photography.

All levels are welcome — just bring your camera, your curiosity, and your sense of adventure.

Highlights

Remote & Untouched Landscapes

The Westfjords are one of Iceland’s most remote and least-visited regions, offering a sense of space and solitude that’s hard to find elsewhere. Here, dramatic fjords, towering cliffs and winding coastal roads create endlessly changing compositions, with very few crowds. It’s a place where you can slow down, explore and truly immerse yourself in the landscape, capturing scenes that feel raw, wild and completely unspoiled.

Puffins & Coastal Wildlife

A highlight of the trip is visiting the incredible Látrabjarg cliffs, home to one of the largest seabird colonies in Iceland. During the summer months, puffins nest along these dramatic cliffs, often allowing for close-up photography opportunities. Combined with sweeping ocean views and rugged coastal scenery, this offers a unique chance to photograph both wildlife and landscape in one of Iceland’s most striking locations.

Expert Guidance

Hosted by Emily Endean and Angela Nicholson from SheClicks, this trip is more than just a tour—it’s a hands-on learning experience led by two inspiring photographers who are passionate about sharing their knowledge. With their guidance, participants will gain confidence behind the lens, explore creative techniques, and connect with a supportive community of like-minded women.

Angela Nicholson

Founder of SheClicks, camera reviewer, cake connoisseur and enthusiastic encourager of getting your knees muddy in pursuit of the perfect shot.

Angela is the driving force behind SheClicks, our community of female photographers who are always up for a creative challenge – and possibly a slice of cake. With a career that’s included writing for Amateur Photographer, Digital Camera, PhotoPlus and more camera reviews than you can shake a tripod at, she knows her way around photographic kit – but this trip is all about you taking the pictures.

Co-leading with the brilliant Emily Endean, Angela will be on hand to offer advice, encouragement and the occasional gentle nudge when the light is doing something special or a puffin makes an appearance and you’re not quite ready. She’ll have a camera or two with her, mostly to document your Icelandic adventures, but her main job is to help you make the most of yours.

Angela started SheClicks in 2018 to create a welcoming space for women at all stages of their photography journey – from phone snappers to full-frame fanatics – and it’s grown into a thriving community of over 15,000 members. She’s passionate about helping women build confidence with their cameras, explore their creativity, have fun and realise there’s no single ‘right’ way to take a photograph.

When she’s not leading photography trips, recording the SheClicks podcast or testing the latest gear, Angela lives in Oxfordshire with her partner and their rather pampered border terrier. She’s a fan of long exposures, wide-angle lenses and, in May, little seabirds with big personalities. She’ll also take almost any excuse to be near the coast. And if you want to win her over, a well-made almond slice will do the trick.

So if you're unsure about your settings, wondering which lens to use or trying to decide whether to wait just a little longer for the puffin to hop into the perfect spot… Angela’s here to help.

Let’s explore Iceland in spring, photograph puffins, chase beautiful light and come home with images you’re genuinely proud of.

Emily Endean

Photographer, storyteller, wave-chaser and early morning light enthusiast (yes, she actually likes mornings).

Emily is co-leading this SheClicks Iceland trip and if anyone can make crawling out of a warm bed to photograph a sunrise sound like a good idea, it’s her. She’s a former Fujifilm X Photographer (Ambassador), an award-winning landscape and seascape photographer and someone who sees beauty in moody skies, rolling waves and the kind of weather that most people would run from.

Her photography journey began with an old film camera and some impressively blurry childhood snaps. Things became more serious in 2012 when she set up Emily Endean Photography alongside a day job, and in 2022 she made the leap to full-time photographer life. That same year, she and her wife set off in a classic Hymer van and haven’t really stopped exploring since.

Emily is completely at home outdoors. She’s happiest knee-deep in sea foam, chasing light along a windswept coastline or photographing details so closely you start to see the landscape differently. Her images are full of atmosphere and feeling, and she has a real gift for helping others capture that sense of emotion in their own photography.

Her work has been published in Amateur Photographer, Digital Camera and Outdoor Photography, and she’s received awards from the British Photography Awards, Landscape Photographer of the Year, Garden Photographer of the Year and the Guild of Photographers. Alongside this, she runs workshops and tours, writes thoughtfully about photography and shares her experiences through YouTube.

On this trip, Emily will be the one encouraging you to try something new, go a little wider, get a little lower or stay out just a bit longer when the light starts to come together. She’s relaxed, down to earth and always keen to help you push your creativity, especially if there’s coffee involved.

Emily’s dream superpower? The ability to summon perfect light or dramatic skies at will. Her favourite baked good? A vegan sausage roll from her local café. Her general outlook? If you’re slightly cold, a bit windswept and smiling because you got the shot, then you’re doing it right.

So grab your camera and a decent pair of boots, Iceland in spring is waiting, and Emily’s ready to explore it with you.

Hanna Másdóttir

Hanna grew up in the north of Iceland in Akureyri before moving to Reykjavík in her early twenties. She has worked in the travel industry for over 25 years, starting her career with travel agencies where she gained extensive experience with both incoming and outgoing travel.

Over the past four years Hanna has worked as a guide, beginning as a hiking guide in the Icelandic highlands and leading food tours in Reykjavík. For the last two years she has been working full-time as a certified driver-guide, leading both private tours and small group trips around Iceland.

Hanna guided the SheClicks group in February 2026, so she already knows the style and pace of the trip and understands exactly what the group is looking for from a photography itinerary.
